Research has shown that children need to keep reading during the summer holidays. In fact, new studies have shown that if a child doesn't read over the six week break, they can fall behind as much as six months. Your fantastic children have all worked so hard this year and I am delighted with the progress each and every one of them has made. Please, please, please help them to keep going. I have attached this document to give you some ideas of how to go about keeping literacy alive and well during the summer. Keep it fun and do lots of talking! Thanks in advance, Corrinne
