We have been focussing on the long "o" vowel sound.  We learned a short poem and decide to have some fun with it.  We used our toes to help us with the timing. Great fun!

Summer Reading!

Research has shown that children need to keep reading during the summer holidays.  In fact, new studies have shown that if a child doesn't read over the six week break, they can fall behind as much as six months.  Your fantastic children have all worked so hard this year and I am delighted with the progress each and every one of them has made.  Please, please, please help them to keep going.  I have attached this document to give you some ideas of how to go about keeping literacy alive and well during the summer.  Keep it fun and do lots of talking! One of the goals this group of children had, was to read aloud to the class.  You did it! I am so proud of each and every one of you.  Keep practising the reading strategies.
Room 6, you always make a great audience!
