The Arts in action
As a school, we are focussing on "The Arts" this term. In Room 6 we have been learning some poems to help us remember our blends. Today, we looked at each verse and talked about some drama techniques that we could incorporate into the poem. We looked at ...
Voice: Should we speak softly or loudly?
Gesture: What little movements should we make?
Facial Expression: How can we reflect a feeling through our faces?
I was so impressed with what the children came up with that we grabbed an I-Pad and raced out to record. Fantastic work Room 6. Now we are working on dramatizing our own narrative writing.

Great Reading
This lovely group of girls read with beautiful timing this morning. What a great example of choral reading and the value of working together. Awesome!

Descriptive writing
Today, Room 6 got together with their budies from Room 4. We learned about creating interesting writing by using descriptive language. Connor and Asher (brothers) worked ver hard writing, re-reading and then writing some more to create this awesome sentence.
The beautiful, fluffy deer skipped over a little stream where six glistening fins sliced through the shimmering blue water.
